As important as our relationships are, they are not always easy! Michelle Becker will provide a presentation designed to increase insight to mindfulness techniques that can facilitate compassion between the couples we work with. 

Course Description & Educational Goals:

Compassion in Couples: Cultivating a loving foundation and learning to respond to difficulty with compassion. This workshop explores compassion for self and other and how to cultivate kindness and compassion in couple’s relationships.  This is an experiential workshop and participants will come away with tools to use in their personal and professional lives.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to define compassion and self-compassion.

2. Participants will learn at least one intervention to explore and cultivate compassion for self and others.

3. Participants will be able to identify at least two relational patterns and their functions/effects on the couple.



About the Presenter: Michelle Becker, LMFT

Michelle is the developer of the Compassion for Couples program. Additionally, she is a certified teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion, Compassion Cultivation Training, The Daring Way and Rising Strong programs. Michelle is a senior teacher trainer, mentor, and co-founder of the teacher-training program in Mindful Self-Compassion. She teaches and speaks on the topics of compassion for self and others nationally and internationally. Target Audience:

This course is designed for mental health professionals.

*30-min for registration and refreshments will not be counted toward CE time awarded.  

Cost:

$35 for pre-licensed members

$50 for pre-licensed non-members

$45 for licensed members

$60 for licensed non-members

Certificates:

Course Completion certificates will be awarded electronically in exchange for a completed evaluation form. Course meets the qualifications for 3.5-hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs, as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

This course is provided by the San Diego Chapter of the California association of marriage and family therapists (Provider #57330) and is approved by the California association of marriage and family therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs.
